Michael

Designer

A talented level artist with a passion for fishing, sculpting, and cryptozoology, Michael’s a valued member of the Tribe.

With a degree in Game Arts and Design from the “Art Institute of California — Orange County”, Michael’s professional interests revolve around 3D modeling, texture design, and building beautiful, intriguing environments. While his tenure at Red 5 is the first time he’s professionally worked on a game title, Michael’s always fiddled with GameMaker, the UT2K4 level editor, and writing lavish, D&D-esque campaigns in his notebook.

Outside work, however, Michael’s interests are equally varied: with a pet interest in cryptozoology, the study of newly discovered species, Michael also hopes to someday retire to his home country of Guam, buy a boat, and spend his days fishing. (After becoming a gaming industry rockstar at Red 5, that is.)

Q: What’s your favorite game, and what would you change?
A: Super Mario RPG for the SNES! It had a solid story line, great gameplay, and superb storytelling. Other than some minor issues with the magic system, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Q: What was your favorite toy growing up (and secretly still play with)?
A: I will always have a soft-spot for the Ninja Turtle action figures; a long time ago, my mother bought me four Leonardos because she couldn’t tell the difference.

Q: Favorite “bad” movie. Go.
A: StreetFighter: The Movie. A lot of people weren’t too fond of it, but I thought it was okay. My favorite part? Zangief’s “Quick! Change the channel!” scene.
